Koh Samet Round 3....

I think I'm addicted and need help! Just kidding this island is just so perfect to go to for a weekend getaway because it is only 3 hours from BKK and so beautiful! This time I went for Jenna's birthday! She made me birthday so perfect so that is what I wanted to do for her birthday as well! I got off work a little early because Jenna had rented a private van to drive us there and pick us up. There was a group of 8 so we spilt the cost and it was perfect! This van was hella nice!!!! Way better than the vans I usually travel in! We left BKK around 3:30pm and had the beers cracked by 4! I was super excited to arrive earlier because usually I get in on Friday's around midnight because I usually don't leave until 7, but game changer we arrived around that time! We had a late dinner at a restaurant right on the beach and then started our night of celebrations! Of course we were drinking vodka redbull buckets, why wouldn't we! Then to the best and pretty much only bar, Naga we spent the night dancing and drinking and having a jolly good time..... except I don't remember much. So then the sun came up the birds were singing it was going to be a lovely day until I stepped out of bed to go pee and MOTHER  %#%&#^@&*#&^*@&^#. I think I broke my effing ankle. Good one Melissa. This is it, this is the time you really messed things up. I dropped to the floor shrieking of pain and crawled my way to the bathroom. This was real bad. I tried everything, walking on it in different ways but nope, I had to hop around on one foot back to bed. Then as I'm laying there I look down my other leg to a badly open wounded bloody knee. What the hell happened last night!!!! So as I cried a few tears wondering how the hell I'm going to deal with this, I popped way to many advils and went to breakfast. What is usually a 5 min walk took me about 15 but I made it, walking a different style of the walk of shame. I could hear the Thai employees laughing from the restaurant, they must see this way to often! After breakfast I hobbled my way to the beach and did not move all day, not that I had a choice. The sand was the worst too because my foot would sink and man oh man did it hurt. I have never felt pain like this before. Yes, the smart thing would have been to go to the hospital but it was Jenna's birthday and I would wait until Monday to go to the big hospital in Bangkok. Not moving from the beach all day did my give a slight burn though, but other than that it was a nice relaxing day. We then went to dinner and got the restaurant to bring out a cake we bought out and sing happy birthday to her! She was so surprised and it was perfect! We then played some cards against humanity which is always the best game to ever play! Adam's girlfriend is Thai so it was funny playing with her and having her ask what the cards meant! So funny trying to explain those! We went to Naga bar again but I sat on the side lines watching everyone dance because I just couldn't. Jenna was having stomach problems so we walked back to the bungalows earlier than everyone else and just chatted the night away. The next morning the foot still hurt, but was slightly feeling better I think.. or maybe I was just getting used to the pain, who knows. We spent our last day on the beautiful beach again! I love the beach here because it is so quiet and not as busy as other tourist destinations in Thailand. This island is not very well known and I love that! We caught a speedboat back to the mainland around 2 and our private driver was waiting for us there. The drive back took a little longer than expected because of traffic, but made it home safe and sound, with my fingers crossed I could walk just a little better tomorrow for school.

So foot update: I just walked it off. Took about a week to have no pain, but I didn't go to the hospital. Hopefully I didn't do something serious that will come back to bit me in the butt if I ever hurt that foot/ankle again. Mai pen rai!
